A spoonful a day works wonders for acclimating to the local flora.

The Oxford Performing Arts Center, known as "The Grand Old Lady" of historic downtown Oxford, is located right on Choccolocco Street. World-Class Mountain Biking: You don't have to go to Colorado for incredible trails. Coldwater Mountain in Anniston is an official Bronze-Level IMBA Ride Center, offering miles of purpose-built, red-dirt singletrack trails for all skill levels.
Waterfalls Without the Workout: You don't have to hike for hours to see stunning vistas. You absolutely have to visit Cheaha Falls in the Talladega National Forest. Located near Cheaha State Park, the hike to the falls is only about a 0.5-mile walk from the trailhead to a gorgeous 20-foot natural cascade and a deep swimming hole.
The Waterways: If you are a boater or an angler, you will be right at home. From the sprawling Logan Martin Lake (easily accessible from the Alpine area) to the deep, pristine waters of Lake Wedowee, East Alabama is a haven for lakefront living and weekend fishing trips.

You can also join the historic Anniston Country Club for a more private, traditional club experience.
Jeep & Off-Roading Culture: If you prefer mud tires to golf carts, East Alabama has a massive off-roading culture. Choccolocco Mountain Off Road Park in Jacksonville offers rugged trails for Jeeps, ATVs, and side-by-sides. People travel from all over the South to crawl our trails.

World-Class Marksmanship: If you are a firearms enthusiast or competitive shooter, Talladega is home to the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) Talladega Marksmanship Park. This 500-acre, state-of-the-art facility is dubbed the "Home of Marksmanship," featuring advanced electronic targets and beautiful clubhouses.
